Jesus Christ

The one person to whom all of Scripture points — the Savior.

Jesus Christ is the center of the Christian faith. The New Testament testifies that he is the Messiah promised in the Old Testament, who accomplished salvation through his death and resurrection.

His Coming

The Gospels introduce Jesus as the descendant of David and the Son of God. He drew near to the poor, the sick, and sinners, proclaiming and teaching the kingdom of God.

The Cross and the Resurrection

The heart of New Testament faith is that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of humanity and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15). This event is the center of the gospel.

The Focus of All Scripture

After his resurrection, Jesus explained to his disciples that "Moses and all the Prophets" pointed to him (Luke 24). Christianity reads all of Scripture as pointing toward him.
