Bible Verses for Financial Hardship & a Faith Perspective on Money

Financial hardship weighs heavily on the heart. Yet Scripture invites us to trust the God who knows our needs: "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). Financial Hardship

Cast Your Worry, Seek First

Money worries gnaw at the heart endlessly. Jesus told us not to fret over what to eat or wear, but to seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:31-33). This is not ignoring real needs, but an invitation to lay the weight of worry on the Father who knows all things.

A Faith Perspective on Money

As Scripture says, "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase" (Proverbs 3:9), the harder things get, the more it matters to manage even small things honestly, as a steward. Instead of comparison and anxiety, peace returns as you give thanks for what is given today and move one step at a time.

Seek Practical Help Too

Alongside prayer of faith, receiving practical help is wisdom. Share honestly with your church community, and if needed, seek help from debt or welfare counseling and other professional services. Not collapsing under it alone — the courage to ask for help — is also a form of faith.
