Mary Magdalene
The woman who became the first witness of the resurrection.
Mary Magdalene was healed by Jesus and followed him to the end. At the empty tomb she was the first to meet the risen Lord and to carry the news.
The One Who Stayed to the End
Among those who stayed by the cross and the tomb when the disciples had scattered was Mary Magdalene. That devotion led on to the morning of the resurrection.
"Mary"
As she wept before the empty tomb, the risen Jesus called her name, "Mary," and she recognized him, crying "Rabboni (Teacher)." Then she carried the first news of the resurrection to the disciples (John 20).
