John the Baptist
The voice crying in the wilderness who prepared the way.
John the Baptist came before Jesus, crying "Repent!" and preparing the way. He pointed to Jesus as the "Lamb of God."
The Voice in the Wilderness
Clothed in camel's hair, he cried out in the wilderness, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near," and baptized people in the Jordan River, leading them to prepare the way of the Lord (Matthew 3).
"He Must Become Greater"
Seeing Jesus, he testified, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world," and humbled himself, saying, "He must become greater; I must become less."
