1. Why were the disciples afraid, and what did Jesus say to calm the sea?
2. When Jesus asked, "Why are you afraid?" with what kind of heart do you think He said it?
3. If there is a scary, worrying "storm" in your heart, how can you ask Jesus for help?

Jesus, I believe You are the One who calms even a scary storm with a single word. When my heart is afraid and shaken, help me call out to You first. Because You are with me, I am not afraid. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

• Draw two pictures: a fierce wave, and the calmed sea.
• Take turns shouting "Quiet! Be still!" in a loud voice and a quiet voice.
• Share something that scares or worries you, then say to each other, "Jesus is with us."
