Gideon

A timid farmer, a judge who won with three hundred men.

Gideon was an ordinary man living in fear and hiding, but God called him a "mighty warrior" and gave him victory over Midian with just three hundred men.

"Mighty Warrior"

As Gideon threshed wheat hidden in a winepress, an angel greeted him, "Mighty warrior." Unsure of himself, he asked twice for a sign with a fleece, but God patiently raised him up (Judges 6).

The Victory of Three Hundred

God reduced the army from 32,000 to just 300, so that they could not boast, "My own hand has saved me." With only torches and trumpets, the enemy collapsed on its own (Judges 7).
